Welcome !

Hi. My name is Jaehak Jeong (정재학 in Korean,). I am a husband, and a father of a baby girl. I was born in South Korea in 1974, graduated college from Korea University, Seoul, Korea, and earned a docotoral degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. My profession lies in along the history of my country. As Korean industry grew up, the need for water has also increased tremendously. Though it NOW has become a common fact, I noticed early in 90's that Korea will have severe shortage of drinking water in the near future if water resources (especially potable water) are not managed in a professional way. It is yet to call me a water resources professional myself, but I keep myself keen on this profession.

I consider this web page as my second identity. I have documented my professional history, publication, research projects, and some personal contents. You can download my papers and presentation slides. I am also thinking of uploading some class materials I taught at UT Austin. Hope you find something interesting while visiting my home page.

Blackland Research Center

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Blackland Research Center in Temple, TX. I joined the hydrologic modeling team of the research center in March, 2008. Blackland Research Extension & Center is located in central texas at Temple, TX. This center is affiliated with the Texas A&M University System, and is composed of USDA, NRCS, and Texas AgriLife Research. In short, Blackland is the home of SWAT (Soil & Water Accessment Tool) model.

In this research center, I am mainly working on two projects: 1) development of algorithms for sub-hourly urban rainfall runoff modeling and performance evaluation of stormwater best management practices (BMPs) within SWAT model. 2) development of Biozone algorithm to assess the effects of various types of on-site wastewater system.

My profile is also available at Blackland Research Center webpage.
